Social distancing continues in the face of the novel coronavirus’ spread – as do the reviews of beers I find in my girlfriend’s apartment. Be sure to read the first post in this series for some background!
Today’s was a real treat! My girlfriend and I went to Milwaukee a few months ago to visit some friends and check out the beers the “Brew City” had to offer. One of the breweries we were told we needed to go to was Eagle Park. Their beers were excellent.
My girlfriend found one tasty enough to purchase a 4-banger to bring back on the train with us, Hi…I’m In Delaware – a cider saison with Rishi peach blossom.
It’s a lovely golden straw color, with a slight haze. Against the light we can see rays dance between the medium effervescence of this cider.
On the nose, there is an unmistakable scent of apricot and peach. It’s a bit sharp, with a sweetness that cuts through. It leaves the drinker curious as to what it might taste like.
…. Original Cap’n Crunch. No joke, this cider is oddly reminiscent of the popular children’s cereal Cap’n Crunch. Following that wholly strange flavor, a taste of dry apricot tea follows through the whole sip. The sweetness is present, but in no way overpowering. It’s a delicious and refreshing cider – one that has definitely raised my spirits during this self-social-distancing.
P.S. The logo featuring Wayne’s World really tickled me.
