  • Arminius WinterAle

Posted by Nick Nichols on December 1, 2019November 29, 2019

Over the years I've spent as a dungeon master, I have only had a handful of opportunities to play in a campaign on my own. Several years ago, my friend Ben had decided to try life out behind the screen, and asked me to play a character that could babysit a party of newbies. Happy to oblige, I created a prim, proper, and morally inflexible paladin by the name Arminius Wintergale.

Hot off the success of the MK III, I decided to press my engineering hubris further and further. Seeing no sun to melt my Icarian wings, I sat down to make my next adjustments to …

As you've probably come to realize, 99.99% of our brewing is about us. After all, if we're going through the work, we had better enjoy the fruits of our labors. That being said, on the odd occasion, we do brew for our friends too. In this edition of Wall Brew, we brewed for one of my friends from way back when in high school.

  • MK III: American Red Ale

Posted by Nick Nichols on September 2, 2019September 3, 2019

This recipe is... unique. While it does appear to be the average overly-hopped American Ale, it is the product of an odd experiment. For those who know me, you already know my weird obsession with algorithmic analysis. For those that do not, buckle up.

While we at the Wall have had a kegging system for about a month now, I actually haven’t kegged anything yet – though my co-brewer has his Four Horseman in his keg. To honor my …

One of the joys of brewing is doing it with friends. In fact, I can’t remember the last time I brewed alone. A few friends of the Wall recently decided they wanted to learn how …

  • The Four Horsemen

Posted by Nick Nichols on July 8, 2019September 6, 2019

The Four Horsemen was designed to match my tastes as closely as possible, and spans my interests in IPAs, Witbiers, Rice beers, and Hefeweizen. Each component stands out as a piece of my beer preference, and should act more as a tour than an extravagant fireworks show.
